Resolutions

I know xmas and hannukah are upon us, but I 've decided to skip all that peace and goodwill unto all God's creatures and forward to New Years. This is a resolution which I am making now because for the most part I am really not inclined to make New Year resolutions as I've never really begun a year in January. School starts in September, which for the most part has been the most constructive years of my life and otherwise I've always felt that resolutions for change are much better made on one's birthday for the personal new year. In any case I suppose I will have to append my rule just this once as it seems that my new year could begin at any minute, at least that's what I am hoping. Otherwise it looks like this might be a very long year of Barefoot Contessa, Everyday Italian and Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello in that order unless in the new year the food network decides to change it's lineup which would be unfortunate for my couch sitting (or lying, rather) ways. So, I won't make any epic resolutions here aside from the ongoing ones I share with 80% of the rest of the female population, just this one to share with anyone who reads this and/or cares. I am resolving to write something here every day even if it is a sentence about how many sticks of butter went into Paula Dean's healthy blueberry granola crumble, or even if it's just: "Couch day, too lazy to write. Grazing in the kitchen instead". I would also like to re-instate the count- I suppose starting Jan. 1- although I'm hoping the first post won't be something like: "I've never hurt as badly as you've hurt me (insert name of any $10 bottle of Champagne)"

To all my fellow Chandon, Freixenet, and Cooks drinkers out there - I'll be seeing you next year.

Hellacious

Oh LA, I love ta love ta hate ya but I really do have a soft spot for you. I love that everyone is talking on the phone in the car, typing on their blackberries at lunch behind montrous bug eyed goggles (i'm by no means excluding myself from this crowd), not eating the bread and oh the high heel everywhere! It's good to be home.
